Privacy Policy for Companion Buddy

Effective Date: August 11, 2026

Companion Buddy (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

1. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. All information processed by Companion Buddy stays on your device. We do not use any external servers to store your data.

2. Use of Accessibility Services

Companion Buddy uses Android’s Accessibility Service API to detect which application is currently in the foreground.

• Purpose: This is used solely to determine if a user-selected “distraction app” (like YouTube or Instagram) is open, so that the Buddy character can appear.
• Privacy: We do NOT read screen content, track keystrokes, or record any information from other apps.

3. Permissions

• System Overlay: Used to display the floating character on top of other apps.
• Query All Packages: Used to allow you to select which of your installed apps Buddy should monitor.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
